Signs/Symptoms
A- Syphilis: It is due to bacteria Treponema pallidum which is cork screw type of bacteria. In these cases we observe painless sore on genitals of male & female.

Incubation period: 10-90 days
Signs & Symptoms:
» Germs will spread in the broken skin & then to heart, bones etc. through blood
-Disease will affect the developing baby if mother is suffering from syphilis, through placenta.
» Chancre (wound) will develop on the penis of male & outside of vagina which is painless.
»This disease will cause infertility in males & females.
-There is painless swelling on lymph nodes on thighs.
-So patient do not take treatment due to social stigma /shyness, later on there is formation of rashes,mouth ulcer & swelling of joints.
Diagnosis: In routine, by VDRL Test
Treatment:
Early diagnosis & treatment by long acting becomes VDRL-VE
»It can be prevented by use of condom
